Cybervisit
Cybervisit is a team based careers computer game where
memory, chance and risk all play their part.
The game involves students making a virtual visit to a place of work and meeting workers. Using a new mnemonic, WORKFACT, students find out as much, or as little, as they feel they need to know about a worker’s role before identifying their job title or the area where they work.
Several workplaces are featured where dozens of people work in many different job roles. This enables repeated visits by the same group of students.
Cybervisit can be used by a whole class, either on an interactive whiteboard or simply by using a projector and screen. Each visit could last from 10 minutes to a whole lesson, or until a team have scored an agreed number of points.
Who will benefit from Cybervisit?
Students from Y7 to Y10 will find the interactive learning in Cybervisit fun.
Students will increase their understanding of how people work together and what attributes are required for different job roles.
As students discuss strategies and make decisions within
their teams they will be using key skills such as
communication and working with others.
