To illustrate how Higher Ideas can be used to answer client enquiries

Context

Many students approach a program like Higher Ideas to help them answer a question. This activity enables them to see how the program can be used to answer a range of different types of questions.

Learning outcomes

Students will be able to explain the different ways that Higher Ideas can be used to help with HE .

Level

This activity is suitable those students in Y9-Y13 who may be capable of HE study.

This activity contributes to the following learning outcomes, KS4 and post-16 learning outcome - 8.

Starter

Ask the class to list four questions that students may come up with during their research into HE options. Identify which can be answered using Higher Ideas.

Main

The student resource suggests, and gives a route to finding the answer to, several types of questions that are asked during HE research. The questions could be amended to reflect local circumstances or actual questions that students have heard that are similar to those on the resource.

Plenary

Ask the class to suggest other types of questions that should be asked when considering HE.

Extension Activity

Students can note their own questions and use Higher Ideas to help find the answers.
