Getting to know Jed part 5 (of six). To introduce students to ‘My Jed’

Context

When using Jed, students need to understand that there is a section for them to keep their own notes and ideas.

Students will understand that Jed can be personalised to them.

This activity contributes to the following learning outcomes, KS3, KS4 and Post-16 learning outcomes 8 and 10.

Starter

Ask the class to suggest useful types of information that they would like to find out about a job. Not only will Jed provide much of that information but it can be saved in a way that is personal to them.

Main

The activity sheet takes the student through the ‘My Jed’ feature.

Plenary

Ask the students to discuss how they might use the information they take from Jed in the ‘My Jed’ section. Eg. in discussion with a careers adviser or Personal Adviser.

Extension Activity

Students could prepare an information sheet about themselves, using the data saved in ‘My Jed’.
