We produce regular newsletters, updates and briefings about what's happening here at Careersoft and in the wider world of CEIAG. The most recent of these can be found in the news section of our website.

Half of all people in their twenties say that they would like to start their own business. TV programmes like Dragons’ Den and high-profile entrepreneurs like Hilary Devey and Mark Zuckerberg feed that ambition for teenagers too.
But, with careers education often focused on finding a job, what help is there to encourage people to think about creating a job? That’s the gap that the careers experts at Careersoft are aiming to fill with the launch of businessmaker+ in March 2014.
businessmaker+ builds on Careersoft’s 30 years of experience to bring great ideas for self-employment and entrepreneurship together with practical details on how to get started. The list includes over one hundred detailed and practical business ideas, from organic food delivery and building services through to web design and virtual secretary.
Interlinked with the business ideas, businessmaker+ includes a wide-ranging library of over 230 practical business factsheets. Subjects range from technical details like business rates and VAT, through to softer topics like time management and business angels.
businessmaker+ includes a collection of checklists too. Whether it is buying a franchise, handling cash, recruiting staff, or any of dozens of other subjects, the checklists help get it right when starting out.
businessmaker+ works on a variety of devices including desktops, tablets and smartphones. Try it for free and help your students and clients think about opportunities in self-employment and entrepreneurship. The help you give could encourage potential self-starters and go-getters not just to look for a job, but create a job.
